Both breast augmentation and breast lift surgery can improve the appearance of the bust, but they are designed to address very different things. Breast augmentation focuses on creating volume, ideal projection, and a more womanly upper body. Breast lift is focused on eliminating loose and sagging breast tissue, improving breast location, and restoring a youthful look to the breasts. While different in scope, however, these procedures are incredibly complementary and are often combined for optimal results.

More About Breast Lift Surgery

Breast lift surgery addresses breast ptosis, the sagging of tissue and skin that can produce an aged and unappealing look in the chest. At Altos Oaks Plastic Surgery, we offer three breast lift incisions, enabling us to correct all levels of ptosis and produce an ideally sculpted, perfectly lifted breast mound. During your initial consultation, we will discuss all breast lift options to help you choose the right one for your needs.

You may be a good candidate for breast lift surgery if you have:

  • Sagging breast tissue
  • Excess or loose skin around the breasts
  • Unappealing nipple location

The best way to learn if you are a good candidate for a breast lift is through a one-on-one consultation at our Los Altos office.

More About Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation utilizes implants to improve the size and shape of the breasts. With augmentation, issues like asymmetrical breast tissue, small breast size, and poor breast projection can all be addressed to produce a fuller and more attractive bust.

We offer different implant placement options along with several breast implant options to help produce the most natural-looking results for each of our patients. During your initial consultation, we will cover all of these options to help ensure your desires are met.

You may be a good candidate for breast augmentation if you have:

  • Insufficient volume in the breasts
  • Asymmetrical breast tissue
  • Poor breast projection
  • Inadequate cleavage

Thoughtful and thorough, our plastic surgeons are here to answer your breast augmentation questions and to help you decide if this procedure is right for your needs.

Combining Lift with Augmentation

Breast lift surgery may cause a slight reduction in breast size. While this is not an issue for every woman, if your breasts are already smaller than you’d like, it may be a good idea to combine breast lift with breast augmentation.

Weight fluctuations, pregnancy and nursing, even the process of aging can combine to cause volume loss and ptosis in the breasts. In these cases, it may be best to add implants to your breast lift procedure as well.

The board-certified plastic surgeons at Altos Oaks Plastic Surgery understand that no two women are the same. During your initial consultation, we will listen carefully to your specific desires, thoroughly assess your frame, and provide you with honest information about your surgical options.
