Woman with frown lines

Frown lines are the vertical lines between the eyebrows that occur with facial movement. Known medically as glabellar lines, frown lines may also be called worry lines or “the 11s.” Some people develop frown lines very early on, even in their teens. However, the issue traditionally becomes pronounced with age.

Frown lines respond very well to wrinkle relaxers such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, or Xeomin®. When injected into underlying muscles, BOTOX and similar products allow the skin between the eyebrows to smooth, even when facial expressions change, retaining a crease-free, youthfully alert appearance for up to four months.

In addition to frown lines, BOTOX can be used to lift sagging eyebrows and smooth the creases on the forehead, enabling the rejuvenation of the entire upper face. BOTOX can also erase bunny lines on the nose, eliminate crow’s feet, and smooth the skin around the lips, making it an incredibly versatile and practical option for non-surgical wrinkle relaxation.

Other Treatments for Frown Lines

Non-surgically, BOTOX is often the best solution for frown lines. Surgically, a forehead lift may be able to accomplish the same thing. With a forehead lift, skin and tissue are lifted, helping to erase wrinkles and smooth frown lines. This procedure is also used to raise sagging eyebrows and reveal more of the eye. It is commonly combined with blepharoplasty to achieve complete upper facial optimization.
